Real Estate Weekly
June 6, 2007
Continuing its recognized tradition of providing much-needed information in an engaging format, The Real Estate Academy announced the June dates for “News, Views & Current Trends,” its continuing education (CE) seminar series geared toward residential and commercial salespersons and brokers.
The seminars will take place on June 21, 26 and 28 at The New York
Athletic Club located at 180 Central Park South in Manhattan. The all-day classes provide the Department of State-required 22.5 hours CE credit needed for recertification.
As one of the city’s best-known real estate programs, The Real Estate Academy is recognized for addressing topics of immediate relevancy within the fast-changing world of real estate. “New York City real estate changes so fast that what is planned months in advance can be seriously outdated by the time classes start,” says Esther Muller, the Academy’s co-founder and master teacher. “The format for ‘News, Views & Current Real Estate Trends’ ensures that the information imparted is fresh, timely and helpful to the attending salespersons and brokers.”
The Real Estate Academy has booked top industry figures as speakers.
“We always want our students to learn from the best,” says Benjamin Wieder, the Academy’s co-founder and chairman.
The current speaker list includes Scott Bloom, president, Bloom Real Estate Group; Faith Hope Consolo, chairman, Retail Sales/Leasing Division, Prudential Douglas Elliman; Richard Herrmann, partner, Grant, Herrmann, Schwartz & Klinger LLP; Daren Hornig, managing partner, SAXA Inc.
Also in the line up are Steven James, president of Manhattan Brokerage, Prudential Douglas Elliman NYC; Steve Kliegerman, vice president, Halstead Properties; Peter Marra, executive vice president, Brown Harris Stevens; David Michonski, chairman/chief executive officer, Coldwell Banker Hunt Kennedy; Charles Rabinovitch, founder, CM Rabinovitch/Architect.
“Unlike most programs, Academy students get an opportunity to meet and learn from market leaders who are eager to share their knowledge,” says Esther Muller, the Real Estate Academy’s co-founder and master teacher.
“After they finish with their formal presentations, many instructors will speak with students one-on-one to answer any remaining questions. For those new to the industry – and even for the veterans – these moments are priceless.”
In addition, Muller works in time for agents to network. “Brokers often don’t have time to do so because they are always busy working on deals,” she says. “A lot of productive alliances have been formed as a result of chance meetings at the Academy.”
